One script writing mistake I noticed was that one of the female passengers told her husband, "Next time, Dear, let's take the Titanic", the problem of course being that the Titanic sunk 25 years before the Hindenburg was destroyed. But they do stuff like that in films all the time. For those who might not know, the Hindenburg was not the worst airship disaster in terms of lives lost (actually, considering the fiery nature of the disaster, about a third of the passengers and crew managed to survive). That sad distinction goes to the British airship R.101. But even if all the accidents had not happened (Hindenburg, R.101, USS Macon, USS Akron), they still would have never been able to compete with fixed wing aircraft. It's a shame that airships never really succeeded. They capture our imagination the way airplanes cannot.
